WUT (ANGER) is written in LED letters above the stage, where the dancer acts important, flexes her muscles, opens her mouth wide, furrows her brow, and bares her teeth. Anger grips and enlarges the body. We spit blood, foam at the mouth, and lose our breath as anger takes possession of our muscles, eyes, and voice. It changes and distorts them, making the body appear grotesque, threatening, and aggressive, but also humorous and comical. Anger is also a constructive force, an engine and catalyst for social change. Iconic gestures, such as the raised fist of the Black Power Movement, crossed wrists, and the middle finger, proclaim resistance to unjust conditions and challenge existing hierarchies and structures. Über Die Wut examines the potential of anger, especially women’s anger, through movement, images, music, and text. It investigates anger as both an individual emotion and a condition produced by social structures.

Anna Konjetzky has been creating dance performances and dance installations since 2005, using choreographic thinking as a practice of reflection and transformation. Her work is deeply embedded in a socio-political context, combining physicality, aesthetics, and politics with a queer-feminist discourse. She sees her work as an invitation to dialogue. Anna regularly teaches at several universities and institutions, including the University of Cologne, SEAD, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels.
