Event of the usual – presentation of research and coloring book for adults
As part of the artistic research The Event of the Usual, dance artist Lana Hosni invited the actors of the dance scene and all those interested to participate in conversations about assumptions, beliefs, prejudices, habits, unwritten rules, tendencies …….. that revolve in the space of dance and more or less obviously influence the way we experience it today. From November 2022 to April 2023, about 70 meetings and about 200 hours of conversations took place.
Through structured one-on-one conversation sessions, a kind of ‘update’ was made about where we are today in relation to previous beliefs, assumptions, prejudices, conditions that we encountered through the experience of education/action/consumption of (dance) art and in what way are still present/embodied in the ways we deal with the body, authorship, movement, pedagogical work, collaborative relationships, thinking about dance, criticism… today.
Within the presentation, the method of work and observations will be presented, and there will be time for conversation and questions, along with the presentation of the Bojanka coloring book for adults created during the research process.
Participants of this research are Anika Cetina, Antonia Dorbić, Danijela Renić i Kaja Renić, Dora Đurkesac, Ema Kani, Ivana Bojanić, Ivana Vojnić Vratarić, Josipa Bubaš, Nikolina Komljenović, Marko Gutić Mižimakov, Marta Banić, Matea Bilosnić, Mia Štark, Mia Zalukar, Sindri Uču, Tessa Ljubić, Zoe Pauška i Zrinka Užbinec. The Bojanka coloring book was bound and printed by Antonia Dorbić and Lana Hosni at the Obrt studio.

LANA HOSNI (1989) is a dance artist living in Zagreb. She graduated from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) in 2013 (contemporary dance, performance major). She mostly works as a performer and collaborates with numerous artists such as Matej Kejžar, Sonja Pregrad, Marko Gutić Mižimakov, Nina Gojić, the collective BADco, Zrinka Šimičić Mihanović, Marjana Krajač, Irma Omerzo, Bruno Isaković, Zrinka Užbinec, Mila Pavićević, Sidney Leoni, Costas Kekis and others. As an occasional guest lecturer, she teaches at the Dance Department of the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. Since 2016, she has been actively researching the potential of the physicality of the voice, and since 2021 she has been the head of the project called LOUD QUESTION/Physical and vocal laboratory. In 2021-2022 she is the member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Dance Artists of Croatia.
