Ceren Oran & Moving Borders – SHARD
open rehearsal SHARD 22. 8. at 17:00 Youth Center Zadar

One circle, one dancer, one community. So many stories, lines, experiences and no end. Shard paints a choreographic picture of how individuals and their surroundings deal with trauma. In her latest production, Munich-based choreographer Ceren Oran shares the feeling of loneliness resulting from traumatic experiences and sheds light on the post-traumatic inner states of anger, grief, despair, guilt, helplessness, hyperactivity, fear and isolation. At the same time, she raises questions: Is truthful empathy actually possible? What does support mean in such states of emergency? What do we shy away from? What language do we find in dealing with each other? Can we hold on and endure this?

The company and its artistic director Ceren Oran are based in Munich/Germany since 2015, and contain a broad international profile of dancers, musicians, and stage designers. They tour internationally through Europe, Africa and Asia to share their work in different platforms, festivals and public spaces, exchanging with other artists. With their performances and new formats, they hope that they can encounter and trigger any kind of audience profile with their bodies by using dance and movement as a strong form of expression.
