100 Years of Laban, Towards Artistic and Scientific Symposium

Monoplay’s Round Table “100 years of Laban in Croatia” is a reminder of the visit and residence of Rudolf Laban in Zagreb (a key dance innovator, theoretician, educator, choreographer and writer in the history of Western dance), an event that excited the Zagreb cultural public in 1924 and which undoubtedly influenced the creation and development of the modern, i.e. contemporary, Croatian theatrical dance scene. A hundred years later, we are interested in how deeply Laban’s theory of dance and movement took root and spread, how much it developed and progressed in our environment, how much and through which artistic, theoretical and educational practices is still present.
